 At Ragini we are very enthusiastic about sustainable dining so we use local Devon and Dorset ingredients wherever possible and are always looking for new ways to become more eco-friendly, such as reducing waste, avoiding single use plastic and recycling.

SOME OF OUR VERY OWN BENGALI KITCHEN DISHES

LAMB TEHARI

This rice based dish is a hot favourite in Dhaka city in Bangladesh. Similar to Biriyani but the pieces of meats are cut small. The distinct flavours of this dish are created with a special spice mix and a rose and kewra water.

RAGINI KORMA

An aromatic korma with a unique flavour. Using Chicken thigh, korma sauce, clarified butter, poppy seed paste and fried onions, a sprinkle of rose and kewra water. A sumptuously creamy dish. Served with Pilau Rice

BHAJA MACH

This fish dish is a real delicacy in every Bangladesh household. In Ragini we are following the traditional way of frying fish with locally available fish. (Sea bass or Sea Bream) served with relish

 

 

DHAKAI KALIA

Lamb cooked with green chilli and mustard oil, fairly dry dish. Served with Plain Naan

SHUKTO

A thick soupy mixture of vegetables in a ginger-mustard sauce called Shukto (taste slightly bitter) usually eaten in summer. It is a complex dish, featuring a fine balance of many different tastes and textures and is often a critical measure of a Bengali cook’s abilities in the kitchen. Served with Basmati Rice

MEJBANI GUSTO

Mejbani means host and in the Chottogram region of Banglasdesh this festive dish is cooked for thousands of people who are invited to celebrate many occasions. This is usually a beef dish, we are using mutton. Fiery hot!
